The word "provider" is carefully chosen, and appropriate, since not only do we provide class leading hardware as a leading Value Added Distributor of the best AIDC products on the world market, but we also develop custom product for our vendor partners,and our own range of Blackroc product, usually targetted at specialist areas of those markets. This has special significance in RFID where Blackroc has gained considerable experience over the years and is actively engaged in developing readers and antennas for various major partners.

Value Added Distribution

Blackroc is one of the 3 largest AIDC distributors in the UK, and probably regarded as the best in terms of product support and associated professional services. The Company is widely respected by vendor partners and solution providers alike.

Blackroc has key vendor relationships with the most prominent players in the industry and can offer products and solutions from PsionTeklogix, Intermec, Handheld Products, Symbol Technologies, Casio, Paxar, Seiko and Baracoda.

Product Development

Blackroc has a long tradition in custom product development and manufacture stretching back to 1990. This tradition continues and is growing today with a wide range of AIDC product under development both for Blackroc badging and increasingly, on behalf of some of our major vendor partners to complement their own product range.

Professional Services

Blackroc's professional services activities are growing at a rapid rate. We have a very experienced Radio LAN team who are active throughout the UK and Europe, providing RF consultancy, site surveys, wireless security, hardware installation and commissioning for both solution partners and vendor partners alike.

This RF LAN expertise is rapidly being augmented by RFID professional services expertise where Blackroc is well placed to offer a high level of service for consultancy and on-site integration of RFID backed by its in-depth experience of RFID reader development.

RFID

RFID deserves a special mention. Blackroc has been involved in the development of RFID readers and antennas since 1992 when the Company developed Psion's first ever RFID handheld reader. Since then many reader systems have been developed, and Blackroc has created key development and supply partnerships with many of the leading players in RFID including Philips Semiconductors, Tagsys, Rafsec, ACG, Softronica, and Omron.

All of the above activities are synergistic and provide mutual support one to another. The common thread linking all of these activities is hardware. Blackroc is hardware centric, and does not become involved in the development of application software. We partner with solutions providers and VARs who provide the end user business solution based on the hardware that Blackroc supply. In this way we do not compete or conflict with our solution provider partners in any of the range of services we provide.
